I began writing Oregon City history in 2013 when the Willamette Falls Legacy Project began. I wrote twenty articles for my regular column “Blue Heron Beginnings” in the Oregon City News. In 2024 I published my first scholarly article on Oregon City history for the Oregon Historical Quarterly. I branched out into broader Pacific Northwest history in 2025. This year, I branched out even further, to Cold War espionage history.
